NMC Bright guides sports delegation from the Caribbean Netherlands

Nieuws by Wouter Kuperus

This week, our colleague Nick Veenbrink is guiding a large group of sports coaches, teachers of physical education, and youth workers from the Caribbean Netherlands (Bonaire, Sint Estatius, and Saba). They are in the Netherlands for a working visit. The program focuses on lifelong exercise, sport as a mean for a healthy lifestyle, and the methods that are applied to achieve this. For example, how to set an optimal environment for children to challenge them to start moving and practising sports.

Earlier this week, the delegation was present at the Vitesse – FC Twente match in the Gelredome Stadium. The members also had a tour of the site of the KNVB campus in Zeist and are frequent guests at Sports Center Papendal.

On Wednesday they were inspired by Sportservice Ede where they visited the new PlayceX in Ede (see photo made by Sportservice Ede). On Thursday it will be Sebastiaan Platvoet’s turn from the HAN University of Applied Sciences to inspire them with the workshop Sportief Groot Worden (part of the Gelders model for talent development). The delegation will remain in the Netherlands until Saturday. It is the intention that the knowledge and experience gained will be applied to the Caribbean Netherlands.

The activities are organized by NMC Bright together with the Ministry of Health, Employment and Sport & the KNVB.
